Election Day: May 19, 2026
Stewart Hyndman is a University of Idaho graduate, small business owner, and lifelong conservative who has spent decades serving Idaho — from managing one of the state's largest cattle operations to opening international trade offices across the globe.
Stewart began his career as an associate professor and extension agent at the University of Idaho, advising on livestock management. He went on to manage Warm Springs Ranch, the third-largest cow/calf operation in Idaho with approximately 2,300 head.
In state government, Stewart rose from inspector to State Marketing Director at the Idaho Department of Agriculture, where he opened Idaho trade offices in Taipei, Guadalajara, and Shanghai — negotiating international trade deals and phytosanitary agreements affecting millions in commerce.
As an entrepreneur, Stewart has run a potato export company, a restaurant, a grocery store, a custom-bonded warehouse, and for the past 20 years, his Farmers Insurance agency in Nampa. He understands budgets, risk, and what it takes to build something that lasts.
Stewart serves as Idaho GOP State Committeeman for Canyon County and is a proud sponsor of Back the Blue Idaho. He has chaired the National Wild Turkey Federation's Southwest Idaho Chapter, led Business Networks International in Nampa, and served on Canyon County's Impact Fee Committee.
He and his wife Diane have four adult children and eight grandchildren. When he's not working, you'll find him competing in triathlons, hunting, shooting sporting clays, or fly fishing.
Canyon County is the fastest-growing county in Idaho. That growth brings opportunity — but only if we manage it right. Here's what I'll fight for:
New development should pay for the roads, schools, and services it demands — not shift the burden to existing homeowners. I'll fight to ensure property taxes stay fair and growth pays its share through proper impact fees and responsible fiscal management.
Our jail was built in 1991 for a fraction of today's population. Pod 6 has been closed. We need modern facilities that protect both inmates and officers. As a Back the Blue supporter, I'll prioritize the infrastructure our law enforcement and justice system need to keep Canyon County safe.
275,000 people and growing — Canyon County added 16% since 2020. Growth isn't the enemy, but unmanaged growth is. I'll ensure infrastructure keeps pace with development, protect agricultural land, and maintain the quality of life that brought people here in the first place.
Stewart Hyndman ran for Highway District 4 Commissioner, bringing his fiscal management experience to local infrastructure governance.
